Welcome to Oakwood UMC Online this week. We’ve got some familiar music for you to sing along with. I hope you belt it out at home with us. Alan has an organ piece and two on the piano, for you. I am glad that you are here with us. Feel free to share pieces of the worship with your friends and family on social media.
Our liturgists this morning are Amy Smith, Jen Messaros and Alan Klinect.
Our singers are: Amy Enloe, Judy and Phil Gliebe, Cilla Landrigan, Jen Messaros and Pastor Lori, Sound Tech, Jay Messaros. And yes, we socially distanced as we sang!
As you prepare your hearts for worship, light a candle and welcome God into your midst.

Questions for reflection today or this week:
I hope that let God really speak to you through this today, if not through my message.
When we suffer and are suffering for the right reason, we gain God’s approval.
Is our suffering for the sake of others? Or for ourselves? Isn’t our doing what is right for
the sake of others worth it?
Jesus said, take up your cross daily, he didn’t always mean your doubt, or your physical
pain, or your worries, he also meant a cross like the one he took up! He took up the cross
for others, not to carry the weight of his own pain or his own sin, but the pain and sin of
others. We are called to do the same.
How will you endure this suffering during what we are experiencing right now?
(if it is even really suffering)
Will you give up some of your ‘rights” so that others may live?
God’s approval is not based on you, but on your work in regards to your relationship with
God and with others.
